Rockin Around

Supplies needed

Images and Tube of choice
Font of choice (I used 2 Nelson Shocard DNA)
Animation shop
My mask - here Its mask 330
My 'Rockin Around' Kit which you can purchase here or here
Snow animation (I did have this availabe to download but somone reported me to 4shared saying it was illegal! mail me and let me know if you need it and I will get it to you.

I used the beautiful art of Suzanne Woolcott. You must purchase a licence to use her art which can be done here

Lets begin!

1. Open a new canvas 500x500 and fill white.

2. Copy and paste paper 20 as a new layer. (make sure my mask is open in psp). Layers, new mask layer, from image. Look for my mask in the drop down menu. Hit OK. Delete the mask in the layers palette and answer yes to the question asked. Ungroup layers.

3. Copy and paste frame 1 as a new layer and resize by 70%. Click inside both rectangles of the frame with your magic wand. Selections, modify, expand by 10. Make the mask layer active and copy and paste paper 4 as a new layer. Selections, invert, hit delete on your keyboard, selections, select none.

4. Make the frame layer active now. Click inside one of the rectangles with your magic wand. Selections, modify, expand by 10. Copy and paste an image of choice as a new layer. Selections, invert, hit delete on your keyboard. Selections, select none. Chage the properties of this layer to Hard Light or one of choice. Repeat this step for the other rectangle.

5. Make the frame layer active. Copy and paste the Meet Santa ticket as a new layer and resize by 50%. Image, rotate, free rotate, left 9 degrees. Move it to the top left side of your frame.

6. Copy and paste beaded string 1 as a new layer and resize by 70%. Move it down and to the left slightly.

7. Copy and paste babyflower 2 as a new layer and resize by 50%. Add a drop shadow of choice and place it over the beaded string.

8. Copy and paste your tube of choice as a new layer and add a drop shadow of choice. Add your copyright information, watermark and name, and if you're not animating, save as a jpeg.

Animation

1. Hide all layers above, and including the frame. (See image below for example)Copy merged and paste into animation shop as a new animation.



2. Hold down Ctrl and shift on your keyboard, and hit L unitl you have 10 frames. Make the snow animation active and grab your crop tool. Roughly guess the size of the animation needed and crop the animation so that it will fit under the frame without poking out any edges.

Edit, select all, copy. Back on your tag, edit, select all, hold down ctrl and hit E on your keyboard to paste the animation onto your tag. Hit play and view your animation to see if you're happy with it.

3. Once happy with the animation, go back to PSP and unhide the layers that were hidden. This time, hide all the bottom layers that you used previously for your animation. Copy merged and paste it into animation shop as a new animation. Again, hold down Ctrl and shift on your keyboard and hit L until you have 10 frames. Edit, select all, copy, back on your tag, hold down Ctrl and hit E to paste. Place into position. Now save your animation as a .gif and you're all done.
